At Roskilde University, they work interdisciplinary with climate, environment and social change and transitions. Through problem-oriented and interdisciplinary research which brings together research, students and civil society as well as private sector and political actors, they specialise in, for example, new energy solutions, environmentally friendly forms of transport in the tourism industry or transitions toward just consumption and production. Here, concrete research projects such as RURALITIC play a crucial role and present an important way forward, and supports EU’s agenda to bring research, education and working life closer together to underpin innovation, and sustainable ways of rural life.
